Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) has released a new campaign advertisement, touting his support within the law enforcement community. Highlighting his endorsements from a bipartisan group of Florida sheriffs and the families of law enforcement officers, the advertisement argues that there's nobody "better than Senator Rubio.”

Florida Rep. Val Demings (D) is vying to unseat the Florida Republican, and although she's a former Orlando police chief, Senator Rubio has amassed a large group of political support from the law enforcement community.

In a new advertisement, several community members express their support for Rubio's reelection campaign, and the praise spans several law enforcement organizations.

Katherine McNeill, wife of Florida Sheriff Mac McNeill, shared her concern for law enforcement in this upcoming election, expressing that her “biggest concern is that when the chips are down, someone is there to have their back and protect them and help them along the way. I really believe that Senator Marco Rubio has their best interests at heart to give them the resources that they need to do their job every day.”

Donald Tuten, husband of Florida Sheriff Michelle Cook, also commented in the advertisement that he believes Rubio “has the integrity, he has the moral values that all law enforcement in the state of Florida needs.”

Rep. Demings has campaigned on her past as an Orlando police chief, but this has drawn criticism from members of the law enforcement community.

This week, the Rubio team also directed criticism at the senatorial hopeful, questioning if she agrees with President Joe Biden's (D) comments regarding Republican voters that are "full of anger, violence, hate, and division."

In a statement, Elizabeth Gregory, the communications director for the Rubio campaign, commented that “Val Demings claims she’s running to represent all of Florida, but the leader of her party whose agenda she votes for 100% just wrote off Republicans."
